Always eager to learn new things and looking for challenges. 6 years of experience as developer, of which 3 on commercial projects.
My story is a rare one, because I never had any ambitions to become a developer. Basically I just turned out to be a born computer whizz. I developed my first website when I was 14 years old. A classmate asked me if I could help him build his website, and I told him I could do it, even though I never did it before.
By the time I was done, I figured that just HTML didn't really work when you wanted for example a contact form that actually does something. That's when I started learning PHP.
After a few more of these projects I got the hang of it, and started to learn more programming languages. The thing that worked best for me is the ASP.NET Framework, and that's why I specialized in it.
I have rich experience in writing clean HTML and CSS. In fact, this is the part that I like most about websites. It defines the content and how it looks, and it's always fun too see things changing while I'm working on something. All my work is W3 compliant and is compatible in all popular browsers.
When I started programming I started with the most obvious thing to start with; PHP. Though I'm not an opponent of PHP, I don't really like the language, because of some inconsistency and the lack of good debugging support. When I started on ASP.NET I had some some trouble understanding the logic behind it, but after a while I got it. Today I've specialized in ASP.NET and made a significant number of applications with it.
Most applications need to save and display some kind of data. The most common way of saving data is in a Database. Because ASP.NET is a technology from Microsoft, it makes sense to use Microsoft SQL Server as database server. Though I don't write a lot of SQL-code anymore - due to the coming of Microsoft's Entity Framework - I still have good experience with it. I can write complex stored procedures that are both reliable and fast.
When I build a website, I always implement a set of common practices used in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Almost everyone wants his/her website to be findable on the web. I know from experience that this ain't no easy task. I can help you with this from analyzing the site to implementing the required changes.
Even though I'm not a real designer I have extensive knowledge of Photoshop. I know how to do basic image manipulations, and can design a professional website with it. Also when someone sends me his/her design I can convert this quick and clean to HTML/CSS.

At the age of 18 years, a company in The Netherlands offered me a job. I took the opportunity, and they taught me a lot. I learned to work on commercial projects, how to manage my time, and follow up on things. After 2 years I felt it was time for something new, so I left the company. Not long after that someone came to me with the question whether I wanted to work for them in their office in Norway. I couldn't find a good reason not to do it, so I said yes and ended up here.
I decided it would be much more fun to work on myself, and here I am; ready for a challenge! Drop me a line if you think I can help you. I can speak either German, Dutch, Norwegian or English. Choose whatever you feel comfortable with.
